A brief overview of the electronic symposium “The Way to Cop28 Conference”
The Arab Youth Network for Sustainable Development organized an e-symposium entitled “The Road to COP 28,” where the overarching meanings of the Conference of the Parties and its role in achieving lasting results in the field of climate change were explored. The symposium focused on climate change issues and impacts, highlighting the role of international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector concerned.
The symposium emphasized the importance of the Conference of the Parties as an important platform for negotiation and decision-making that promotes awareness and movement towards climate change. The conference was opened with a keynote address by Professor Tariq Hassan, who spoke of young people’s vital role in raising awareness of climate issues and the importance of their participation in global action to address climate change.
A range of important topics were raised during the symposium, including the Paris Agreement and efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The importance of international cooperation in the climate field was highlighted, and states were encouraged to increase cooperation to achieve sustainable goals.
