The Arab youth represent a fundamental pillar in the building of countries, where the youth percentage is more of 40% of the total population. According to this, the role of Arab youth is important and effective, but in reality it is completely marginalized, and it suffers from the contempt and oppression of those who are in charge and their ages over sixty and seventy years old.
Theeconomically, politically and socially empowerment of youth makes them fundamental pillars in achieving sustainable development in the Arab world. Therefore, countries need to develop public policies to empower youth and provide them with opportunities to participate in the development programs that promote the concept of sustainable development.
On the other hand, we cannot talk about sustainable development without addressing the youth, because poverty and unemployment are a serious impediment in their future and in achieving the United Nations Agenda for Sustainable Development 2030, which includes achieving 17 goals, including eradicating poverty and creating job opportunities for all youth.
The current situation in the Middle East and North Africa and the economic, social and security challenges are a major impediment for some countries to develop policies to empower youth and plan for a clear vision for building these countries to achieve the goals of sustainable development.
In return, we seek in the Arab Youth Sustainable DevelopmentNetwork to work with governments, local and international organizations to empower youth, communities, to spread the concept of sustainable development and to plan for policies, programs, conferences and others to deepen the concept of sustainable development and its importance from the economic, social and environmental aspects.
The network is ready to work with all United Nations organizations and other international organizations to promote partnership in achieving sustainable development goals in the Middle East and North Africa regions.
