Mr. Naseem Mustafa Al-Zeinati, environmental activist and head of the Communication and Media Department at the Arab Youth Sustainable Development Network (AYSDN), from Gaza, won the 2023 MENA Hundred Sustainability Champions Award on Professional category.
This took place during a ceremonial gathering organized by the International Federation of Community Responsibility on Saturday, August 19, 2023 via Zoom, at which the names of the winners of the award were announced in the first two categories honorary and second professional categories.
According to International Federation for Social Responsibility’s statement on the occasion of the announcement of the “One Hundred Sustainability Champions in the MENA”, the global occupational classification is concerned with identifying personalities who have made an impact in the world of sustainability from the countries of the MENA.
The statement added,
“The initiative of the International Federation for Social Responsibility to adopt a ‘global classification of sustainability’ to confirm that sustainable development is the hope that the countries of the world and through their institutions/foundations seek to achieve, and they celebrate personalities who have made an impact in the world of sustainability in MENA Region, and they have been certainly models of successful stories, but our region is full of large numbers of personalities who have successfully led the development process and supported its goals in distinct ways.”
For his part, Mr. Naseem Al-Zeinati was pleased with his win, which he defined that it has increased his determination to achieve the goals sustainable development pursues through the Arab Youth Sustainable Development Network (AYSDN).
The award has been added to the list with Arab and international personalities who have a clear and prominent role in working towards the promotion of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
He noted the importance of classifying its sustainable impact in motivating many young people in MENA Region to make more efforts to promote sustainability.
On what will be given to the heroes added to this list, Al-Zeinati said,
“The Holy Figures give a number of advantages, including: the inclusion of the hero in the 100th Champions of Sustainability Book in MENA Region of 2023, an honorary shield in the name of the competition, as well as the inclusion of the name in the digital platform, as an honorary guest at the International Forum to Promote the United Nations for Sustainable Development 2023.”
On this classification, Al-Zeinati won this award and is one of the leading activists of the network. Mr. Tariq Hassan, Head of the network, is very pleased with this win, particularly with the presence of one of the members of the network in this global half that supports the directions of the network Youth access to international forums and global awards and highlighting their achievements, In particular, AYSDN is in the vicinity of an important and global event, the Climate Summit COP28 Sustainable Development Goals and the promotion of responsible practices.
