Arab Youth Network Organizes Webinar on Youth-Led Climate Diplomacy Ahead of COP30
The Arab Youth Sustainable Development Network held a webinar today titled “Youth-Led Climate Diplomacy – Shaping the Arab Voice at COP30”, scheduled to take place next year in Brazil. The event featured a distinguished panel of inspiring speakers and brought together a large number of Arab youth interested in climate issues and sustainable development.

Discussions focused on the role of Arab youth in climate diplomacy and ways to empower them to actively participate in shaping environmental policies. Speakers emphasized the need for youth to have the right tools, knowledge, and language to understand climate issues and influence decisions, in addition to promoting their involvement in key areas such as sustainable agriculture and improving food systems.

Eng. Tareq Hassan stressed the importance of building the technical and negotiation capacities of Arab youth related to climate issues and highlighted the need for youth representation in official Arab country delegations at international climate conferences.
Participants also pointed out that Arab youth have the potential to strengthen local resilience and drive a just energy transition toward a more sustainable and equitable future. Creativity, technology, and initiative were identified as essential drivers for building resilient communities capable of facing crises while balancing environmental, economic, and social justice goals.
The webinar was held via Zoom, with more than 47 participants from across the Arab world, as part of a series of events organized by the Arab Youth Sustainable Development Network in preparation for the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30).
