Arab Youth Sustainable Development Network Launches Introductory Session for the Training Program

“Empowering Arab Youth in Climate Action and Green Innovation”

The Arab Youth Sustainable Development Network (AYSDN) organized today, Thursday, June 26, 2025, the introductory session for its training program “Empowering Arab Youth in Climate Action and Green Innovation,” with the wide participation of over 140 young men and women from various Arab countries. This marks a significant step towards strengthening the role of Arab youth in confronting climate change challenges.

A Training Program Putting Arab Youth at the Heart of Change

The program, launched under the slogan “Enhancing Arab Youth Skills and Raising Community Awareness,” aims to equip Arab youth with scientific knowledge and practical skills in climate sciences, enabling them to become leaders and active contributors to environmental efforts in their communities.

Mr. Mohammed Al-Yatari, Executive Director of AYSDN, who facilitated the session, stated:
“Empowering Arab youth in this field is a strategic investment in the future of our environment across the Arab world.”

Al-Yatari further explained that the program consists of ten training sessions held three times weekly, combining scientific and research aspects with educational initiatives targeting children to promote environmental awareness from an early age.

 

Official Welcome from the Network President to Arab Youth

Eng. Tariq Hassan, Network President, delivered a welcoming speech emphasizing the importance of Arab youth participation in developing innovative solutions to the climate crisis.
He added:
“Arab youth are our hope in building a sustainable future, and by empowering them, we lay the foundation for environmentally conscious societies.”

Hassan also provided a brief overview of AYSDN’s role in promoting the active involvement of Arab youth in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through training programs, advocacy campaigns, and youth-led initiatives.

Arab Youth Facing Climate Challenges

The session highlighted the vital role of Arab youth in tackling climate change, referencing United Nations reports indicating that over 1.8 billion young people worldwide are aged between 10 and 24, including a significant proportion of Arab youth.

Speakers stressed the necessity of equipping Arab youth with modern knowledge and skills in education, technology, and innovation to enable them to lead environmental transformation efforts in their communities.

A Youth-Driven Launch Towards a Sustainable Future

This session represents the starting point of a comprehensive training pathway aimed at preparing Arab youth to become pioneers in climate action and green innovation across the Arab region.

Upcoming events are expected to witness strong interaction between participants and experts, fostering knowledge exchange and reinforcing the role of Arab youth as key partners in the journey toward sustainable development.
