On August 12th, the Arab Youth Sustainable Development Network held a special virtual event via Zoom to celebrate International Youth Day. The event brought together six inspiring young leaders from across the Arab region to share their powerful stories and motivate youth.
The event featured compelling stories from Arab young men and women who have made their mark at major local and international forums. They spoke about turning their ideas into reality and inspiring their peers across the Arab world.
Speakers Mohamed Okasha, Islem Zrelli, Sara Elwheshi, Meead Guman, Zaher Zain, and Aseel Anotaleb delivered heartfelt speeches expressing pride in International Youth Day. They reaffirmed their commitment to continue their journeys and emphasized their role in mentoring and guiding the next generation.
Mr. Tareq Hassan, Chair of the Arab Youth Sustainable Development Network, highlighted the importance of empowering Arab youth and their critical role in regional and global negotiations. He stressed the need to support youth participation in international forums, stating: “At the Arab Youth Sustainable Development Network, we are dedicated to amplifying youth voices.” He called on the Arab League to encourage governments to actively include youth in decision-making processes and also acknowledged the essential role of women.
The event brought together all participants for a special day where the speakers stood out with compelling and eloquent narratives.
More than 120 passionate young people took part in the event, including youth with disabilities who actively contributed. International Youth Day united a diverse group in a distinctive event that featured powerful and eloquent speakers.
