Arab Youth Sustainable Development Network Conducts Specialized CPR Training at Al-Nashma General Hospital in Yemen

Taiz – Special Report

As part of ongoing efforts to enhance the capabilities of medical personnel in rural Yemeni areas, the Arab Youth Sustainable Development Network has conducted a specialized training course in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for adults and newborns at Al-Nashma General Hospital in southern rural Taiz. This initiative falls under the project “Building Capacities of Medical Staff at Al-Nashma General Hospital,” with generous support from the Yemen Climate Justice Fund (YCJF), and in strategic partnership with the Public Health and Population Office in Taiz Governorate.

The training course extended over six consecutive days in Al-Ma’afer District, where participating medical staff received intensive training covering both theoretical and practical aspects of cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The course focused on developing basic and advanced skills for dealing with emergency situations and health disasters that medical teams might face in remote areas.

The training program included intensive practical sessions and field applications, as well as simulations of realistic scenarios for handling cardiac and respiratory arrest in children and adults. The course also covered integrated care systems in cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to the latest global medical protocols, contributing to improving response efficiency in critical cases.

This initiative comes in the context of efforts to improve healthcare services in rural Yemeni areas, which suffer from a severe shortage of qualified medical personnel and essential equipment. The project primarily aims to raise the level of medical readiness at Al-Nashma General Hospital and enable healthcare staff to provide specialized, high-quality medical care to residents of the surrounding rural areas.

Participants in the course praised the importance of this initiative and its role in enhancing their professional capabilities, affirming that the acquired skills will positively reflect on the quality of healthcare services provided to patients and will contribute to saving many lives in remote areas that lack advanced healthcare services.

It is worth noting that the Arab Youth Sustainable Development Network continues its efforts in implementing various development projects in Yemen, focusing on vital sectors such as health and education, in its endeavor to contribute to alleviating the suffering of Yemeni citizens amid the difficult conditions the country is experiencing.
