Today, the Arab Youth Sustainable Development Network held an online webinar on the occasion of World Water Day, under the title: “Experts Inspire You and Visions Change Your World.”
The network hosted experienced experts to enrich the discussion and explore the future of water on our planet. Dr. Mabrouka Ismail spoke about the relationship between water consumption and sustainable production, providing examples to illustrate this connection. Her presentation also addressed the environmental challenges resulting from excessive water use, and emphasized the importance of raising awareness about water conservation to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Dr. Sufian Al-Hamdi, a specialist in international development and youth empowerment, highlighted the role of youth in addressing water-related challenges. He stressed the importance of training and capacity-building to promote innovation among youth in the water sector and concluded by outlining the initial steps required to launch any water-related project.
Dr. Mai Ahmed, a member of the technical committee of the Volunteer Team for Humanitarian Action, reviewed the latest technologies and tools available for individuals and communities to help reduce water waste.
For his part, Dr. Esa Qahtan, a consultant at the Social Fund for Development, discussed practical steps to strike a balance between the needs of industrial and agricultural production and the preservation of water resources. He also addressed the long-term environmental and economic impacts of water resource depletion.
The webinar was attended by 52 participants from various Arab countries.
