ARAB YOUTH SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT NETWORK

AYSDN is a youth-led regional network launched among youth professionals and experts from the MENA region working on Sustainable Development Goals. The network aims to develop effective ideas and solutions that enhance the participation of young people and contribute to the promotion of their leading role in the development of societies. AYSDN was first established in 2018 and it had more than 15 regional ambassadors from MENA countries who have implemented online & in-person awareness raising workshops among their local communities. AYSDN keen to assist local government, local and international Organizations, private sectors and to support the United Nations to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals in the Arab World as well as educate youth about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and provide practical volunteering opportunities, amongst other activities, to unleash their potential while being an active world citizen, and raising the awareness about climate change issues among youth .

AYSDN is looking for a suitable Volunteer to fill the position of MEAL Manager:

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Implement monitoring and evaluation activities (comprehensive logical framework, M&E plan, and indicator tracking schedule, data collection tools, information flow, reporting, and review) in accordance with Quality Control Monitoring and Evaluation Policy and Guidelines, as applicable,
  • Preparing and designing a monitoring and evaluation plan for all project activities and in accordance with specific donor requirements.
  • Monitoring and evaluation guidelines, values and principles, and other sector standards and protocols, as well as mainstreaming cross-cutting themes (gender, protection, disability, and environment).
  • Ensure that monitoring and evaluation include and take into account aspects of the project’s outputs, process, context, and outcomes and that appropriate data collection and reporting tools are developed and used.
  • Managing the development of surveys for evaluation and monitoring purposes
  • Carry out monitoring and evaluation activities in full coordination with project staff and other relevant parts.
  • Ensure that baselines/End lines are planned, coordinated, and implemented as scheduled.
  • Ensure that projects are progressing according to the plan set and address any deviations that may occur
  • Ability to travel to supervise and implement M&E plan.
  • Overseeing the design and operation of databases for entering and analyzing survey data
  • Develop tools to collect relevant data in accordance with donor registration and quality control frameworks.
  • Compile and analyze quantitative and qualitative data for monitoring and evaluation received on a regular basis.
  • Coordinate the periodic review with the projects team to facilitate dialogue, intentional learning and reflection from evaluations, monitoring project progress, etc., to improve project implementation and project quality.
  • Ensure regular updating of the beneficiary database.
  • Reviewing and handling any complaints received from the field and verifying them in a manner that maintains the confidentiality of the beneficiary.
  • Ensure that the project’s KPI database is developed and updated regularly.
  • Prepare and lead end project evaluations in accordance with quality control and donor requirements.
  • Development and design of a mechanism for preparing and collecting data and field reports.
  • Review monthly and periodic reports submitted by projects to ensure compliance with recommended M&E guidelines, formats, and programming standards.
  • Design, conduct, and report on PTM/ PDM/ PHM Verification Surveys as required by projects.
  • Support project managers in preparing donor reports by providing timely information from follow-up results and data collected from field staff.
  • Organizing and facilitating monitoring and evaluation training to develop capacity and awareness with implementing partners and quality control field staff.
  • Determining research needs, developing competencies, and supervising consultants and research teams. Undertake capacity-building activities for staff and other stakeholders with a view to improving project monitoring and documentation.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all data provided in reports to stakeholders including donors, partners, and community beneficiaries, among others.
  • Ensure that the highest ethical and confidentiality standards are applied in support of accountability to affected populations.
  • Participation and supervision of needs assessment studies and reports
  • Preparing the reports of the MEAL department monthly / quarterly / annually
  • Any other tasks assigned by the direct supervisor

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • University Degree in (Social Science- Statistics – IT) or any other relevant field.
  • Three -years of Experience at least working within an NGOs /INGOs.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office programs, particularly Excel, SPSS, and KOPO.
  • Strong oral and written English skills.
  • Ability to think independently and problem-solving.
  • Ability to write monitoring and evaluation reports in both Arabic and English
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with MEAL and project team at the bases.
  • Honest, hardworking, and committed to community development
  • Excellent in using Microsoft including (word, excel, power point and emails).
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel regularly to the field.
