Arab Youth Sustainable Development Network Participates in Workshop and Practical Application on AI Agents and Project Management Automation

Date: August 25, 2026
Location: Zoom

The Arab Youth Sustainable Development Network (AYSDN) participated in a specialized introductory workshop titled “AI Agents and Project Management Automation,” organized by the Project Management Institute – Saudi Arabia Chapter (PMI KSA). The workshop was delivered by Dr. Intisar Al-Kayal, under the supervision of Eng. Alaa Bin Sameer Arif.

The Network’s participation, represented by several of its members, aimed to explore the latest technologies for integrating artificial intelligence into project management, while understanding the levels of autonomy offered by these tools to achieve practical outcomes safely and effectively.

The workshop featured an intensive practical component, where participants were trained on the “Agent Loop,” covering the stages of observation, understanding, decision-making, execution, and verification. Practical educational cases were also presented on building a specialized agent for project monitoring and identifying tasks that require human approval versus those that can be fully automated.

The workshop covered several key areas, including:

Understanding AI Agents: Distinguishing between traditional tools, fixed automation, and intelligent agents capable of understanding objectives and selecting the most appropriate course of action.

Components of a Trusted Agent: Combining the “brain” for planning, “tools” for programmatic integration, “memory” for retaining context, and “guardrails” to ensure safety.

Governance Standards: Emphasizing the importance of continuous human oversight and adherence to privacy policies.

This participation and practical application are part of the Arab Youth Sustainable Development Network’s efforts to keep pace with digital transformation and adopt smart solutions that contribute to improving the efficiency of managing its development initiatives and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals across the Arab region.

The workshop concluded with the development of an institutional roadmap for adopting these technologies, beginning with assessing data and organizational readiness and progressing toward responsible implementation and operation.
